Research Expert: Yun Jin Rho

VP of Research and Consulting Solutions

Yun Jin leads the Maguire Associates research division with the goal of advancing their methods for primary and secondary research on behalf of higher education and K-12 clients.
 
Before she joined Maguire, she created and led diverse teams of educational researchers and data scientists to provide behavioral learning analytics for higher education clients. To strengthen efficacy research goals at Pearson, her team analyzed high-resolution digital data by incorporating qualitative information to measure the impact of online education products. The research helped the company’s marketing and sales teams make data-driven decisions and helped the product management teams identify the strengths and weaknesses of their online education products.
 
Coming from academia with a background in cognitive science and psychometrics, working in the online education industry for about ten years gave her a good understanding of finding the balance between rigor and relevance of her research. She is the lead inventor for three patents. She received her Ph.D. in Applied Statistics from Columbia University. She also holds an M.S. in Cognitive Science and B.S. in Mathematics and Psychology from Yonsei University.
