CONCORD, Mass., September 21, 2020 - Maguire Associates announces the appointment of Yun Jin Rho as vice president for research and consulting solutions. Rho brings a new perspective to Maguire and aims to continue to advance the research division at the education consulting firm. Rho also brings her extensive experience in research and efficacy analytics, psychometric research methods, and adaptive testing research.

During her career, Rho has led diverse teams to build effective research strategies to facilitate data-driven solutions and decision-making through item response models, cognitive diagnostic models, Bayesian network modeling, and data mining techniques, through linear and non-linear statistical modeling. She also is the lead inventor for three approved U.S. patents, two of which were for predictive recommendation engines.

Rho will lead the Maguire Associates research division and invest time in expanding their methods for primary and secondary research on behalf of higher education and K-12 clients. She looks forward to continuing to improve Maguire Associates’ existing products and services and developing new offerings based on the changing needs of the education community and shifting demographics impacting education institutions.
Rho spent the most recent decade of her career leading data strategy and efficacy teams for Pearson following her four years of research and teaching statistics at Columbia University's Teachers College. Yun Jin Rho received her Ph.D. in Applied Statistics from Columbia University. She also holds an M.S. in Cognitive Science and B.S. in Mathematics from Yonsei University.
